During the fourth annual TK Elevator Pitch Competition, 成人直播 saw its students rise to the occasion鈥� literally.

The annual Elevator Pitch Challenge, a highlight of 成人直播鈥檚 Professional Sales program, took place at TK Elevator鈥檚 offices in Atlanta. As one of the world鈥檚 leading manufacturers of elevators and escalators, TK Elevator provided the perfect backdrop for the challenge, where each student had 60 seconds to pitch their personal brand to company executives while ascending 420 feet in Atlanta's fastest elevator.

The competition began with 28 contestants, but only the top four finalists advanced to the final round held in TK Elevator鈥檚 production studio. The live-streamed finale added an extra layer of excitement and tension, as participants faced the pressure of performing in front of broadcast cameras, a panel of judges, and TKE leadership.

This year鈥檚 winner, senior and Entrepreneurship major Jacob Orr, impressed judges with a confident pitch that highlighted his desire to serve the public. 鈥淭K Elevator consistently serves its customers with the safest and most innovative solutions,鈥� Orr said during his pitch. 鈥淭his aligns perfectly with my mission to effectively serve others, which I'm going to utilize in solutions that continue to keep the world moving forward.鈥�

Orr ranked second in last year's competition: an achievement he says set him up for this year鈥檚 victory.

鈥淭hat was the first time I got to make a real splash with the sales team,鈥� he said after the competition. 鈥淭o come back again and finally take first place is an immaculate feeling. I鈥檝e got to thank TKE, my coaches, and everyone I鈥檝e practiced with. This wouldn鈥檛 be possible without all their resources and support.鈥� The competition is not only a personal challenge for the contestants, but also a testament to the collaborative environment the 成人直播 Professional Sales program aims to create. Students tirelessly practiced their pitches with faculty, sales program peers, family members, and even strangers in the weeks leading up to the event.

鈥淚n a way, everyone around me has been my mentor,鈥� said third-place finalist Aamiyah Smith. 鈥淚've been asking everyone to listen to my pitch to give me feedback, even random people around campus.鈥�

The TK Elevator Pitch Competition is not only an opportunity for students to hone their personal brands and speed-selling skills, but also network with TKE recruiters. 鈥淲e have several TK employees now who came from this competition,鈥� said Brent McCulloch, Senior Lecturer of Professional Sales at 成人直播鈥檚 Michael J. Coles College of Business. 鈥淚t's a great way for the company to see our students in action.鈥�

TK Elevator鈥檚 Area Vice President Adam Luckey agrees, adding that watching the event evolve over the years has been as gratifying as meeting the fresh and capable talent 成人直播 has to offer.

鈥淭his is an event that we look forward to every year,鈥� he said. 鈥淭he talent and the effort they bring to the table never ceases to amaze me every single year.鈥�

As the competition continues to grow, it remains a unique opportunity for 成人直播 students to gain real-world experience by selling themselves and connecting with industry leaders鈥攌ey steps in launching their careers.

鈥淚t鈥檚 very gratifying to be a part of this program,鈥� said McCulloch. 鈥淚t鈥檚 actually fun to take in students who think sales is a tricky business and manipulative. By the time they go through the sales program, they find that our job is to make people's lives better. We try to find out what people's needs are and try to fill those needs.鈥�
